About Me

My name is Ivy. I recently graduated from Guilford College in North Carolina, with an English degree with a minor in communications. While at Guilford, I worked as a staff writer and then as the Features editor for the student newspaper, and as a teaching assistant for rhetoric and composition class. During my senior year, I received a Dorothy Lloyd Gilbert Award, which granted me the money to pursue work in writing and new media after graduation. I love to travel (I went to England on a study abroad program and still miss it terribly). While in London, I worked as an unpaid intern for a media company in the editorial department and loved every minute.

My writing has ranged from creative, to academic, to professional, and I keep at this little blog as a practice of noting, remembering, sharing, and "composting" the events of daily life (big and small).
